Bovenstaand gewoon even voor het dossier, de gehele gewraakte speech. En die duurde dus een uur en 13 minuten. In dit transcript wordt uitgelicht welke zinnen als opruiend beschouwd konden worden. Enkele voorbeelden: "Republicans are constantly fighting like a boxer with his hands tied behind his back. It’s like a boxer. And we want to be so nice. We want to be so respectful of everybody, including bad people. And we’re going to have to fight much harder. (...) You have to show strength, and you have to be strong. (...) When you catch somebody in a fraud, you are allowed to go by very different rules. (...) You will have an illegitimate president. That is what you will have, and we can’t let that happen. (...) We fight like hell, and if you don’t fight like hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore."

Ja, tikkeltje opruiend is het natuurlijk wel. Maar of het echt een oproep tot of verheerlijking van geweld is, dat zien we er dan eigenlijk ook weer niet in. Enfin, voor big tech kwam het maar al te goed uit, want Donnie werd simultaan van Twitter, Facebook, Insta en YouTube geknikkerd. Volgens de Twitter-persverklaring is Trump permanent verbannen wegens zijn laatste twee tweets, in de context van bovenstaande speech.

En gister reageerde Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey op de kwestie in het onderstaande draadje. Het meest opvallende was dat hij ondanks dat hij Trumps verbanning steunt, wel erkent dat hiermee een gevaarlijk precedent geschept is. "Having to take these actions fragment the public conversation. They divide us. They limit the potential for clarification, redemption, and learning. And sets a precedent I feel is dangerous: the power an individual or corporation has over a part of the global public conversation."

Ach, zoals een Arabisch gezegde luidt; 'They'll kill you and mourn you at your funeral'.
