I think that if the government persists long enough with locking people down, depending on the severity of the lockdown, civil disobedience is likely to be the result. It will be discrete civil disobedience in the classic English way — I don’t think that we are likely to go onto the streets waving banners. I think we will just calmly decide that we are not going to pay any attention to this. There are some things you have to pay attention to: you can’t go to a shop if it’s closed. But I think that in the eyes of many people who disapprove of the lockdown, and some people who approve of it, we’ve reached that point quite a long time ago.”

En met 'in opstand komen' bedoelen we in eerste aanleg natuurlijk dat je tegen dit grondrecht verziekende wetsvoorstel van de Grapperstasi om een Hugoelag in te richten een INTERNETCONSULTATIE in kunt vullen. Schijt hebben aan de wet, of ertegen in opstand komen met burgerlijk ongehoorzaam geheven middelvingers, kan altijd nog. Maar we trekken toch nog wel érgens een streep in het zand, toch?

Want als we op een vaccin moeten wachten, zitten we tot ver voorbij de zomer van 2021 binnen opgesloten

Eerst het woordgrapje maar uit de weg: op UnHerd.com pleiten ze voor herd immunity. Ha ha. En dan nu meteen aux serieux. Drie gestudeerde mensen die meer weten van epidemieën dan Hugo 'Zo en nu ff op verkansie' de Jonge of Diederik 'Geer/Goor' Gommers, pleiten samen voor Focused Protection. Hun mening (want epidemiologie is ook maar een mening tegenwoordig): als we op een vaccin moeten wachten, zal het psychische leed niet te overzien zijn. Bovenop het economische gevaar, voorzien ze langdurige problemen vanwege de uitgestelde (geestelijke) gezondheidszorg, waarbij de hardste klappen onder de werkende klasse en jonge mensen vallen, en binnen die groepen vooral bij de lager opgeleiden en sociaal achtergestelden. Daarom hebben ze The Great Barrington Declaration opgesteld. 

Het pleidooi: laat de minder kwetsbare mensen zo snel mogelijk het gewone leven hervatten. Veel handjes wassen, thuisblijven als je ziek bent maar verder zo veel mogelijk Normaal. Doen. Scholen en universiteiten open. Lekker sporten. Terug naar kantoor als je jong & weerbaar bent. Bedrijven en horeca weer open. Culturele sector ook. Geen zin in? Even goede vrienden. Maar laat wie wel kan en wil, het wel gewoon doen. Als we zelf zo eens rondkijken, en bij iedereen de spanning en frustratie tot soms totale waanzin hoog zien oplopen, denken we dat een half uurtje mindfulness met deze video in ieder geval geen kwaad kan.
