Oprecht een interessante intersectionele kettingbotsing om even te verkennen
Bovenstaand ziet u "Indijewnous Advocate" Lani Dawn, een Asjkenazisch-joodse Native American-vrouw. Eergisteravond protesteerde zij op een campus van University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) en werd ze naar eigen zeggen aangevallen wegens de bovenstaande tekst: "Hamas Supporters Are Not Welcome On Native Lands". Die tekst verwijst naar dat de grond waarop UCLA staat ooit van de door Spanjaarden uitgemoorde Tongva-stam was.
Maar hier wordt het retorisch dus interessant. In de video na de breek bijvoorbeeld legt Lani uit dat volgens haar "The Free Palestine movement is an Islamic conquest movement headed by the Islamic Republic [Iran, red.]. It is not in any way an indigeounus liberation movement."
En dan komt-ie: "The re-establishment of Israel in 1948 was the re-establishment of Jewish sovereignty and stewardship of the land from colonial powers. It was never Muslim, Arab or Palestinian land until it was colonized. Al-Aqsa is ad indigenous as Mount Rushmore."
Nou, zo staat Lani er dus samengevat in: Als het Amerikaanse project een koloniale verovering van inheemse volkeren was, dan is het islamitische project in Judea dat ook. En dat maakt niet de Palestijnse zaak, maar juist de Israëlische zaak een indigenous liberation movement.
Maar zullen we sowieso NU stoppen met doen alsof pro-Hamas-demonstranten (want dat zijn letterlijk al die campus-demonstranten) daarmee ook 'pro-Palestijns' zijn? Dat zijn ze namelijk niet; ze zijn anti-Israël en het maakt ze helemaal niks uit dat Hamas dit noodlot over Gaza afgeroepen heeft.

The Palestine protests are explicitly pro-war protests. Whether or not you agree with them, we should all acknowledge that they are pro-war protests.
They’re proud to shout for Intifada, but have no idea what it is. The first and second intifada’s in the late 80’s-early 90’s and then again in the early 2000’s were responsible for killing thousands of Jewish civilians via suicide bombing at night clubs, shopping malls, markets,…
